What Does CoQ10, Magnesium & Chromium Polynicotinate Have In Common?

Answer is:  They were all featured on The Dr. Oz Show (6/6/2012) to aid in lowering High Blood Pressure the natural way!

Did you know that approximately 20% of North Americans have high blood pressure, or hypertension?

It accounts for more than 35 million doctor office visits per year!

High blood pressure or Hypertension causes increased blood flow exerts undue pressure and stress against the walls of the blood vessels.

(English PLEASE!!!)

Bottom line is…healthy arteries are strong and smooth.

Arteries effected by hypertension are not.

When you have high blood pressure, your blood pumps through your vessels at a powerful force.

Over time this rough treatment to your vessels will cause damage to the walls of the arteries.

So where they should be smooth and strong, they will develope rough spots in them.

This will make the arteries prone to fat and calcium build up which is called plaque.

Plaque will block the blood flow.

It just goes down hill from there…if you have plaque build up, then your body is deprived from good blood flow to all of your organs.

You are then put at risk of:

Heart Attack

Heart Failure

Kidney Failure

Stroke

etc….(I’m sure you are getting the picture!)

So here is some options from our beloved Dr. Oz :

CoQ10, Magnesium & Chromium Polynicotinate are 3 natural supplements that impress Dr. Oz.

First up is CoQ10 which is an antioxidant that helps lower blood pressure. If this is the option for you then take 200 mg per day.

Second option is Garlic.  Dr. Oz said that he ate 1 clove of garlic each day! I would prefer taking a garlic supplement (just my opinion)!

Next up was Magnesium.  The Dr. suggested taking  400 mg per day to get your blood pressure in shape.

Last, but not least was Chromium Polynicotinate,  200 mcg per day.

As always, check first with your doctor.

What Does Your Calcium Do For You?

There are many benefits to taking calcium daily.

1.  Antiaging

Calcium has antioxidant nutrients that help delay the normal oxidation (breakdown)of cells that occurs inside the body, which will often accelerate the aging process.

2.  Strong Bones

Preventing osteoporosis.  Excess calcium in your body is stored in the your bones.

3.  Anticancer Properties

The anticancer properties of calcium have been building excitement in research circles since the late 1980s.  Gastroenterologists have been known to recommend their patients who have colon polyps or other increased risk factors for colon cancer to take in more calcium.  Calcium appears to reduce the development of substances in the colon that can lead to the formation of polyps or other cancerous growths.  Dietitians recommend 1,000 – 1200 mg a day of calcium.

4.  Cramps

5.  Insomnia

Taking a calcium and magnesium supplement (400 mg each) about 45 minutes before heading to bed for the night is an effective sleep inducer.  Check with your doctor about magnesium if you have heart problems.
